WOODFORD, VA (Mar. 28, 2017) — As a result of post-event inspection following the Dominion Raceway event on March 25, the engine of Jeff Oakley’s No. 11 Chevrolet late model stock car has been deemed illegal by CARS Tour rulebook standards after a thorough technical evaluation. As
a result, Oakley has been disqualified as the winner of the second duel race and Jared Fryar has been declared the winner. The triumph is Fryar’s first ever CARS Tour win, joining Layne Riggs as a fellow first-time series winner following their respective victories in the Saturday afternoon duels.
A disqualification of Oakley’s third place finish in first duel race will also be enforced along with an undisclosed fine and loss of championship points.
Fryar, from Trinity, North Carolina, inherits the victory in just his third career CARS Tour start. One of those starts came a season ago behind the wheel of a super late model before making the switch to late model stocks in 2017 driving for Larry Coleman.
