602 Tour Director David Sell and East Carolina Motor
Speedway General Manager John Vick are proud to
announce that the 6th Annual Mischa Sell Memorial
for Limited Late Models will be
held on the 4/10 oval in Robersonville NC on
Saturday, August 26, 2017.
This is the 6th and final edition of this premier Limited Late Model race to be held in it’s current format. In 2018 the Mischa Sell Memorial Race will become the crown jewel event for the 602 Super Limited Series. The MSM will become the season ending event for the tour where extra money and special bonuses will be handed out to make it the highest paying event that will occur on the 602 Super Limited Series schedule.
To culminate this version of the event, the 2017 MSM will open up the rules accommodate most limited late model motor combinations found throughout the southeast. Chevy 602, 603 and 604 crate motors will be allowed, as well as, the Ford SR247jr crate, along with built motors. As usual, the any shock/spring rule will be in effect.
No driver has ever won 2 MSMs and 2017 looks to be no different, with many top tier limited drivers who will be looking for the victory.
The first 4 races were held at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw NC. Scott Hall won the inaugural 2012 event, Joey Throckmorton won in 2013, Austin Thaxton captured the event in 2014 and Dylan Ward took home over $12000 in prize money and the trophy at the 2015 MSM. Mack Little would go on to capture the 5th Annual MSM event in 2016 at Southern National Motorsports Park.
Also on tap is the midway season points race for the exciting new 602 Super Limited Series. This series features a wide open rulebook, a spec Chevy 602 crate motor and multi-use American Racer tires. Races usually consist of 22+ cars and has the best action of any touring series you will ever see.
